Why I Am A Materialist

I am a materialist. But probably not in the way you might think. I don’t care about accumulating possessions or property, and, I’m definitely not an Ayn Rander. I’m a materialist in the philosophical sense, which means I believe that reality consists only in the material/physical world.

Philosophical Idealism, is the belief that reality is fundamentally shaped by ideas and mental experience rather than material forces. It is the opposite of materialism.

Ideas and belief have their places but they don’t change what is. The musical ideas I have in my head do nothing for anybody until I make them real. To become real they must take on material form as physical sound waves that reach peoples’ ears. Otherwise, they are just ideas which have no bearing on reality. No amount of visualizing in solitude or watching The Secret can change that.

So, for all you materialists out there, the good news is my EP, Touch The Sun, is officially dropping on April 30! Stay tuned.
